The Cathedral will celebrate Black History Month through-
out the month of February with these services and activities:
Sunday, Feb. 4
- 10:30 a.m. Black History Month kickoff
- Noon — Youth luncheon for Cathedral youth and their
parents
Sunday, Feb. 11
- 9:10 a.m. — Adult Formation — African American He-
roes and Sheroes. Learn about African-American persons,
groups and events that have been ignored in U.S. history.
Sunday, Feb. 18
- 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services — Guest preacher will be
Geoff Ward, professor of African and African-American
studies and faculty affiliate in Department of Sociology
and American Culture Studies program at Washington
University, St. Louis. Learn more about Professor Ward
here. - 9:10 a.m. — Adult Formation — Professor Ward will be
the guest presenter. Joining Professor Ward will be Kelly
Schmidt, reparative public historian and lecturer, Special
Collections Management Research Associate, WashU &
Slavery Project. Learn more about Kelly here. - Noon — Black History Month Potluck — the Cathedral will
provide the chicken (both fried and baked), congregants to
bring sides and desserts.

8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services — Heroes and Sheroes presenta-
tion, in lieu of the sermon
